The Information Security Officers Group (ISOG) continues to play a vital role in supporting the objectives of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) Financial Services Cyber Resilience Plan (FSCRP) 2024–2029 as one of BSP’s recognized collaborative partners in strengthening the cybersecurity posture of the Philippine financial sector.
“To encourage collaborative efforts and information sharing among the key players in the financial industry, the Information Security Officers’ Group (ISOG) composed of Information Security Officers was established in 2014. The primary objective of ISOG is geared toward capacity building and development of preventive measures to combat cybercrime particularly those targeting financial institutions. The BSP played a key role in the realization of this endeavor by providing the necessary support and guidance for the industry players.”
In line with this mandate, ISOG has actively fulfilled its responsibility in cybersecurity capacity building and leadership development through the conduct of executive-level training programs designed for current and aspiring cybersecurity leaders.
One of ISOG’s flagship initiatives is the “First 100 Days as a CISO” Executive Training Program, which equips newly appointed Chief Information Security Officers (CISOs) and cybersecurity executives with practical strategies, governance frameworks, leadership skills, and regulatory insights necessary to navigate the critical first months of their role. Since its launch, ISOG has successfully conducted four batches of the program during the first half of the year, benefiting security leaders from banks, financial institutions, government agencies, and private sector organizations.
Given the strong industry demand and positive reception, additional batches of the program are planned in the coming months to further expand its reach and support the development of cybersecurity leadership across various sectors. ISOG is also exploring the introduction of advanced-level executive courses designed for experienced CISOs and cybersecurity leaders seeking deeper expertise in strategic cyber resilience, emerging technologies, regulatory developments, and enterprise security governance.
These executive training programs directly support the FSCRP’s objectives of enhancing cyber resilience, developing cybersecurity talent, and fostering stronger collaboration across the financial services ecosystem. By continuously investing in leadership education, knowledge sharing, and professional development, ISOG helps ensure that organizations are better prepared to address emerging cyber threats and contribute to a more secure and resilient digital financial sector.
