Sec. Ivan confirms the urgent need to educate the nation especially the youth after the rapid shift brought by the pandemic. “The transition from a brick-and-mortar setting to work from home. The young population is highly trainable, but lacks interest and skillset in Science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM). Therefore, STEM needs to be strengthened – thru gamification, coding for kids, LEGO spike, Minecraft, we can build interest to in this field. Filipinos are technological adopters, but not technologically averse. Client education or focus on the educational roadmap is important, but protection at the infrastructure side and governance factor is also needed.”

A Hackathon is being planned by the agency in the second quarter of the year ,and ISOG is being invited to assist the office as an adviser and to involve its members when the project pushes through.

ISOG and DICT will continue its collaboration this year and intends a long term program partnership to fulfill their mission and vision to the Filipino people.
