ISOG courtesy call with National Privacy Commission (NPC)

Last February 3, the Information Security Officers Group comprised of the following core officers: Chairman Emeritus, Joey Regala, Vice President, Chito Jacinto, Chief Technical Consultant, Raymond Nuñez, Director for Education, Hanz Yoro, and ISOG Operations Manager, Nilda Dimaano, visited the office of the National Privacy Commissioner, Atty John Henry Naga. Together with him was his Head EA, Erwin Espenilla, who witnessed the discussion of cyber leaders.

ISOG presented the mission, vision, and programs of the group to the commission. While on the other hand, NPC looks forward to continuing and furthering their collaboration with the group.

Atty. Naga, mentioned how ISOG and DPOs of Banking Institutions can submit feedbacks to NPC by using their online platforms like PRIVA and Data Breach Notification Management System (DBNMS), a user-friendly interface that facilitates easy tracking and faster submission of Personal Data Breach Notifications and Annual Security Incident Reports. ISOG was also invited to participate in the PAW (Privacy Awareness) Campaign, to educate DPOs on compliance and policies. Also, they suggest ISOG to link with Cybercrime Investigation and Coordinating Center (CICC) moving forward.

Both NPC and ISOG believe that the partnership will strengthen education and awareness campaigns for privacy, not just in the banking industry, as well as inspire other cyber security leaders from different sectors to take part and action in securing the digital landscape of the country.
